Search allows users to find assets quickly. Placeholder text should provide a hint as to what is being searched and help the user understand the scope of the search.
When to use
- As a global entry point for finding any data asset.
- As a scoped filter within a specific view or catalog section.
Placeholder text
- Placeholder text should provide a hint as to what is being searched.
- Do not include a period at the end of placeholder text.
- When search is meant to retrieve assets based on keywords found in metadata, use
Search in [asset names](plural). - When in doubt,
Search [asset names](also plural) is always a safe default.
