Search

Search allows users to find assets quickly. Placeholder text should provide a hint as to what is being searched and help the user understand the scope of the search.

When to use

  • As a global entry point for finding any data asset.
  • As a scoped filter within a specific view or catalog section.

Placeholder text

  • Placeholder text should provide a hint as to what is being searched.
  • Do not include a period at the end of placeholder text.
  • When search is meant to retrieve assets based on keywords found in metadata, use Search in [asset names] (plural).
  • When in doubt, Search [asset names] (also plural) is always a safe default.
